Antarctica's Exhibition in Taipei is
amazingly bad!
A day before I went to the exhibition, I started to doubt about the wonderful displays in their advertisement.
In Tucheng, everyone and every school seems to know about the exhibition. But why not in other parts?
Answer: The headquarter for the South Pole Exhibition is located on Yu-Min Road, Tucheng.
They gave out flyers nearby schools and educational institutes, not yet other parts of Taipei.
Besides, if this exhibition is really that great, it would have advertised everywhere on public facilities, such as Mrt's, buses, etc. - Just like the Flora Expo.
The Entrance! The entrance was somehow a bit empty for the first opening day. I also found it a bit unprofessional how they did it. It's decorated with posters of polar bears, penguins, ....hey wait.... Polar Bears in South Pole?
How big is the exhibition? When you enter the exhibition, you can see a small ice-made-slide, which is in the center of the exhibition hall, when you pass the slide, you will see the exit.
Shortly, it is just a little bit bigger than MyTeam's institute.
How long does the exhibition take to be finished?5 minutes.
The Exhibition!First, you will discover two small bad copies of igloos. Real igloos don't look like these two. Even when they make copies of them they should make them how an igloo really looks like.
Then you will come to a small slide, yeah slide if you want.
after the slide you will find a small bar, where they offer you something to drink, near that bar, you can see some sculptures made of ice, which is
not related to Polar Bears, Penguins, Antarctica, South Pole, etc..... you know... just sculptures of simple animals like deers,... and
I forgot, cause they were not worthy to be seen. And that's it, the exit is just next to them. lol
The exhibition itself has really very less relation with South Pole! (But outside where you do not pay for the entrance, you can see some posters about South Pole and Polar Bears. Watch online is was much more educational.) lol
Souvenir Shops! What? Let me read the advertisement again.... Ah, maybe they miswrote, I think should be: Souvenir Vendors.
Any relation to the exhibition?
Well..... yes and no
No! Because 99% of the souvenirs has nothing to do with Polar nor with South Pole.
Yes! Because the souvenir stands are as crap as the exhibition, match perfectly!
Okay, here's my suggestion:
You should go there if you want to waste your time and money.
This is the WORST exhibition in my whole life. That should not be allowed to be called exhibition.
Remember the worst and most boring place you have been, that place will turn to interesting... after you see the "South Pole" Exhibition.
